Growing up, the heart of the home was the kitchen because that's where mum was - and of course the dumplings. On certain days, the scent of ginger and garlic would gently fill the house before we even open our eyes. We always knew...it was dumpling day.

Mum didn't just make dumplings - she made memories. She'd lay out the wrappers and bowls of fillings like a quiet invitation to gather. And even though our fingers were clumsy and our folds eneven, she'd smile and say, "It's not about perfection, it's about enjoying the moment."

We'd often get flour stuck to our cheeks as we folded each one. It wasn't long before the rhythm of making dumplings became a family ritual. Passed down without us even realising it.
